My son is getting married next summer, so of course already I am thinking about what to wear. Big family events like weddings are especially interesting for people like me who are divorced, because it means seeing people who are no longer part of our ongoing life and so there is a twinge of anxiety about wanting to look especially good -- not that anyone notices the mother of the groom, but you know how it is. So, I have been playing with yarn and beads and patterns. I have two that I like and will knit both. I think my daughter kind of has her eye on the one I will show you tomorrow -- maybe because she told me it perfectly matches her hair.
Anyway, I started Hydrangea in cash/silk in a lovely lilac with teeny lilac beads -- here's a glimpse --

I am liking it a lot and this is a pattern that I think is absolutely beautiful. I am making it wider because I prefer wide shawls.
