Interested in exploring Jung in greater depth? I offer a study group concentrating on the psychology of C.G. Jung in an online version. This group provides a structured environment for participants to read the writings of Jung to learn his psychology at a deeper level. More than an academic venture, this group seeks to live and breathe the process of analytical psychology through reading, discussing, and the relating of the material to the member's growth and life experience.
It is not possible to cover the full range of Jung's thought in one year or even two, so this group will run for as long as there is interest, exploring different material each year.
No prior knowledge about Jung is required.
We will use a private discussion forum. Every two weeks, we will read approximately 30 pages from The Portable Jung or from a work by a significant Jungian author. We will work our way completely through one book before starting another. During the week, I will post questions arising from the reading for us to consider in our discussion forum. And in addition, each of you will be welcome to start discussions on the material. Because each person is able to access the site at a time convenient for him or her, we are not bound to specific times, leaving much more possibility for deep and rich discussion.
We will use the discussion forum for discussions about the reading, and about the process of personal exploration which comes from reading such rich psychological material. Our network will not be visible to anyone outside of our group and accessible only to members. Because of the format, people are free to participate each day within their own schedule, which will make it easier for everyone to participate.
We will create a safe space for this work by committing to full confidentiality.
Basic requirements: Internet access, ability to use email. Members agree to commit to spending time each day (about 2 hrs per week) reading and then commenting on the readings and the thoughts of other class participants. I will be participating daily in discussions.
Members prepay on a monthly basis. The fee is $40/month, payable via Paypal.
